Coleslaw
When we make pulled pork sandwiches for our monthly extended family dinner, this, potato salad, and/or baked beans are usually on the side.
Ingredients
- 1 (16 ounce) bag coleslaw mix (shredded cabbage and carrots)
- 1/4 cup onion, minced
Dressing
- 2 tablespoons sugar (or sucralose)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 1/2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
Directions
- In a large bowl, toss to combine the coleslaw mix and minced onion. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together all dressing ingredients until smooth.
- Pour the dressing over the coleslaw mixture and toss to coat evenly.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve chilled.
