This is what happens when I buy a jar of off-brand Nutella and my kids eat the whole thing before I get any. This isn’t the real thing, but it scratches the itch, costs less, and I have everything as pantry staples.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 4–6 tablespoons no calorie sweetener (or powdered sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch salt
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 2–3 tablespoons milk or cream (optional)

Directions

  1. In medium bowl, combine peanut butter, cocoa powder, sweetener, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until smooth.
  2. Drizzle in melted coconut oil while whipping with hand mixer.
  3. If using milk or cream, continue whipping while slowly adding it until desired consistency is reached.
  4. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. Refrigerate if using milk or cream.
